Xbox vs. Wii: What would be better?

what would be best for someone like me? I'm not an avid gamer, but I would like to start playing as a game with my boyfriend (who has an xbox) and I really enjoy it. I like the Wii Fit and Wii Sports (bowling and stuff) that come with the wii (and can play super mario haha car) but I like the xbox cause you can play online with people who would be pretty impressive too. I wonder which is cheaper and better games, which is more easy to understand and it is generally better? Just looking for opinions of people and why. Thanks:)

Mii is fun to create, and interactive control is incredible, the disadvantages are that it can get boring fast, and online play is not very advanced. However, it is not as expensive as the Xbox360. It's $ 249.99, and no additional cost. In my opinion, if they are serious about video games, go for the Xbox, but if you just want to have fun from time to time when get a Wii.
