Do you listen to music when you write?
I have to have a specific playlist to write. Some songs work for me and some don’t. I make my list and then play it over and over as I write. My current playlist is:
Ramalama Bang Bang by Roisin Murphy
Get Low by Lil’ John
Journey to the Past by Liz Callaway (Anastasia soundtrack)
Kind of a weird assortment, I know. :p. So what about you? Do prefer music or none when you write? What songs in particular inspire you?
I do that, too!
I HAVE to have noise when I write, whether it be music or whatever’s on the TV. If it’s completely quiet, I find my brain just doesn’t work.
I have some random songs on my playlist as well. My favorite Get Inspired songs are:
Mirando by Ratatat
Cicatriz ESP by The Mars Volta
Wouldn’t It Be Nice To Be Proud by Evan & Jaron

Temptation by Arash
Mad World by Gary Jules
I also love The Vitamin String Quartet stuff. They are amazing and I love how they cover pretty much everything. Observe:

Anastasia: Music From The Motion Picture (1997 Version) $6.87 One of the more successful attempts by another studio (here Fox) to make a quality animated film on par with Disney was Anastasia. From the Zhivago-gone-Broadway opening number “A Rumor in St. Petersburg” to the Oscar-nominated get-up-and-sing “J… |

Follies in Concert (1985 Live Performance) + Stavisky Film Score $12.79 Since the original Broadway cast recording of Stephen Sondheim’s Follies was a truncated affair that turned out to be both a disappointment and a disservice to a brilliant show with a brilliant cast, this 1985 concert performance from New York’s Avery Fisher Hall set out to record the whole score, a set of pastiches of old songs and songwriters as performed by a cast of faded stars and the visions… |
